When is the best time to test the transformer?

The Transformadores União laboratory is equipped with modern, calibrated equipment designed to validate tests on medium- and low-voltage transformers, in accordance with ABNT standards.

The Brazilian standard (ABNT - NBR 5356) establishes that all transformers must undergo routine tests. Do you know what that means?

The main routine tests are:
Transformation ratio test;
Ohmmic resistance test of windings;
Insulation resistance test;
Applied Voltage Test;
Induced Voltage Test;
No-load test and excitation current;
Short-circuit loss and impedance testing;
Partial discharge measurement.

The ideal scenario is for the tests to be conducted immediately after manufacturing or when there is suspicion of any operational inconsistency.

The process requires strict control of production activities and monitored follow-up. The equipment is subjected to standard values and times. The results must be evaluated and compared according to ABNT NBR 5356.
